About Me

Hello! My name is Garen Diarbi. I was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and was raised and currently live in Rockville Maryland. I’m currently a Sophomore at the University of Maryland, and am in the College Park Scholars Public Leadership program. I am an Accounting and Information Systems major in the Robert H. Smith School of Business here at Maryland with the prospective goal of becoming a CPA.

 

I hope to gain useful skills in the Public Leadership program that I can apply in the future. I believe that leadership is an incredibly important quality to have, no matter what someone does in life, and look forward to the opportunity to learn and apply skills acquired in PL such as communication and negotiation. As a Business-Undecided major, I hope to be able to learn about various fields of business in order to determine which specific field I would like to enter. Furthermore, I look forward to having the opportunity to apply what I learn in Public Leadership specifically in future jobs in business. I feel as though the social and societal aspect of business is often overlooked, and I will seek to take what I learn in the Public Leadership program and implement it in future jobs to have a positive impact on society.
